Canberra Irish Club, 6 Parkinson St, Weston

Admission $3 Members, Concessions, Blackboard Performers $5 Others

This is a fun afternoon for those wanting to share their love of music and play, sing or recite in an inviting and friendly atmosphere. Put your name on the blackboard to perform, or just get along and listen to some great music.

Jed Rowe is an acclaimed singer/songwriter and guitarist from Melbourne. The son of two musicians, Rowe showed early promise as a fiction writer, winning a national undergraduate short story competition before turing his attention to songwriting. His music walks the line between country, blues and folk and his 4th album 'A Foreign Country' (due for release in July 2017) is a richly told collection of stories of Australian life. Rowe’s sublime slide guitar playing and emotive vocal delivery have earned him a reputation as a standout live performer. He has toured extensively in Australia and Europe and performed at major festivals including Tamworth Country Music Festival & Port Fairy Folk Festival. Rolling Stone described his music as “Heartland alt-country shot through with nostalgia.”
